well I read the report about global warming this morning - another load of b@lls.. but got me thinking , as they state "Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas blamed for global warming"
so logically  there are 6 billion people on the planet - all of whom give out Co2, plus the billions of animals that do too..so how long before we have a BREATH tax?? or catalytic converters for our mouths??? mind you they are looking at Methane as an alternative fuel - so our backsides are safe !!! :D:D:D:D
also had a thought, as we are basically carbon - what happens when we are cremated? is it going to get to a stage when the govt. stop us from dying?    :D

Govt Brains...

Aint that an oxymoron?
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

They were on about freeze drying corpses a while back for exactly this reason...

As for Farting Methane... I'd worry.. how do you think they will extract it

Sky are running a short documentary in Green Britain week where they say that a cow farts 200 litres of Methane a day... I reckon if it works out the same as LPG thats 450 miles worth

When making wine it is impossible to get the alchohol content above 14-15% naturally.  Any content given above that level is done by distilling it.

The reason for this is that once the alchohol content gets above 14-15% the alchohol kills off the yeast which produces the alchohol.

Sustainable environment.

The earth is the same.  It is only capable of sustaining a finite amount of creatures for a given amount of flora.  Once that equilibrium is taken too far out of kilter the whole thing stops.  With the amount of Co2 we and other creatures breathe out, coupled with the pollutants from industry and then taking into account that we are destroying the worlds forests in persuit of the consumerist ideal we're pretty much screwed.

There are only two things that can logically be done to redress the balance.  The first is a good old fashioned war to reduce the world pouplation.  The second thing is raised taxation.

Now you are probably wondering how raised taxation will cure it.  I'll enlighten you.

The government knows that we need a good war but in order for this to happen, they need to create an enemy.  The Chinese didn't sign up to Kyoto and as a result they are producing more and more of the worlds consumer goods.  Whilst doing so they are chucking more and more pollutants into the atmosphere.  Net result is that all our wealth is going abroad and what little mony we have left is going on taxation to pay for initiatives to off set the damage that the Chinkys are doing in thier effort to gain global economic domination which will eventually (within 20 years is likely) lead to them being the worlds first super-duper power.

The general populace will soon get fed up with the Chinese taking all thier money and causing all the pollution and this, couple with a fear of the Chinese becoming a Super-Duper power and taking over the world (hyped by the government controlled media) will lead to us chomping at the bit to go give the slant eyes a good kicking.

O.K.    ..... I'll admit it.  I'm bored at the mo.

What about natural selection? Without an ozone layer, the weakest/poorest will not survive (fried?!), leaving fewer to breath out CO2, thus gradually redressing the balance.

Given the weak points in the ozone layer tend to be at the poles, it would also solve problems in Africa.....
The population nearer the poles would die out first leaving Africa less affected. The sea levels will rise helping Africa to grow more food. They will then be in a position to export surplus and increase wealth.

There you go. Solved.

P.S. I *might* just be saying this with tongue firmly in cheek
