My Micra depreciated at £1,000 a month when it was new, apparently.

I've never had a new car. Most of the time I could'nt afford one, and when I could, I had more important places for the money to be spent... I never felt that the money was worth spending as you loose so much in the first three years. The youngest car I ever had was about five years old when I brought it. My disco is a '94... I brought it in 2005, had I brought a new disco i would have already lost twice what I paid for mine...

All down to priorities I guess...

Well they say you pays your money......

When some t**t in a white van hoit the back of my Micra, whilst stationary, it was valued for insurance purposes at 4k less than I had paid, in fact make that 4 1/2k as I just dug out the paperwork on the finance.  Had my insurance not had to replace new for old I would have got a cheque for 6 grand to replace a brand new car.  Unfair or what?

But the car is for work, so I don't have much choice, do I?
