What would a professional LPG conversion cost - on something like a Discovery V8 or a Range Rover P38?

What types of injection are there and what are the plus/minus points?

Also, is an installers certificate valid forever or do they expire?

The tanks have to be replaced or pressure tested once in while

I have about the most expensive tank, an upright torriodal in place on my spare wheel.  RRR has the same but I paid to have hers installed so it cost me £1800 plus the vat, about £2115 IIRC.

I fitted my own, differebt manufacturer but both are multi point, I think hers is OMVL and mine is italian.  Anyway, I bought mine as a kit and installed it myself (and I'm happier with the results) £1250 including technical helpline.

Multi point won't loose you the power like a sinfgle point or draw through system, so it's far better.  No backfire, loads of power but a bit more thirsty.  With air conn and and the caravan (1,500kg) I can make the LSE do 9mpg

RRR recons on about 16mpg on petrol and 12/13 on LPG.

Blue still has a draw through system, more economical but no power, no torque either and it struggles with big tyres on.  It runs lean at full throttle, you can't satisfy all conditions so you have to live with this one to get it to run at low revs.  I added an Iwema ignition advance processor to add 4 1/2 degrees when on LPG and it really helps.  The processor didn't like water though :( .

Single points are better because you have Lambda feedback to keep the AFR correct, but you still get backfires.  Prices I've herads around £350 with a big tank in the middle of your boot.

If you're a cgeapskate, so single point, if the car is a keeper, go multi point (multi point actually takes up less space under the bonnet too).

Look up Wainsclassicrebuilds on e-blag.
