Billing..

For those who might be wondering (I was!)..

"What’s new for 2007 at Billing?

Campers
Camping areas will be marked out and all pitches to be booked before the event.
Maximum 1,100 units – no overcrowding
And 450-550 pitches over the river with facilities
10 new toilets and 40 new showers are being put in.
Additions to existing services which will be upgraded in the process.
Regularly managed for cleaning with dedicated staff to each block

For exhibitors
Exhibitors showers and toilets
Exclusive facilities to be brought in and fenced off.
Exclusive area of the bar.

Security
Billing and    to provide security staff – on foot in trade area and in vehicles.
Wrist bands and passes to identify campers, visitors and exhibitors.

Traffic management
No traffic movements in showground area –
to be strictly inforced
No day visitor vehicles to be allowed access beyond day parking.
Tyre and fitting operations to be managed with
passes and dedicated access times/area

Refuse management
1500-litre wheelie bins
100 Oil drums with orange bags
Regular pick up
Onsite portable compactor for trade waste

Catering
Sourcing better quality, value for money food concessions

Incidentally… Since 1991 300 statics have been added – 100 are on new islands - 200 came from hookups, but 100 additional hookups have been added. Net effect just 100 pitches have been lost in all these years

Overall layout of the show area to remain largely the same but with modifications

-ends-"

Quote was from the LRM Billing website

I was just wondering if this answers people's concerns. They will need to vamp up security and the toilet/shower question in the showground.

You will have to walk from the car park. As long as it's not a million miles away, it shouldn't be a problem.

For buying wheels/tyres and having them fitted to your vehicle!

The off road coarse is not on site. I suspect what they mean is day visitors won't be allowed to drive into the camping areas, etc. It's just to limit the traffic movement in the busiest areas.

Well after reading all of this forums subject replys, the awnser is very simple.   DONT GO TO BILLING,  Boycott it and Have a MUD CLUB BIRTHDAY BASH.  i think i would have more fun standing in a muddy field with a bottle of vodka and the company of fellow clubbers than go to  the Billing Gypsy site \:D/  \:D/  \:D/  \:D/

It's to stop caravans getting nicked!  I don't know about eveyone but I'm a member of the Caravn Club and all thier sites have security for this very reason.
