Thanks for the replies; I had a look at the S11 forum, unleaded with an additive is generally recommended, although there are owners who use neat unleaded with no problems.
As everything on a Landy is replaceable, perhaps the answer is to run on unleaded and if problems occur, then either rebuild with an unleaded upgrade or drop in a more sensible replacement? The engine has only done 70k miles.
Depends what the rest of the vehicle is like, I'm going to have a look tomorrow.
