a lad at work is having a bit of trouble starting his diesel vaux...in the cold weather,..he has replaced the glow plugs at the price of £140, and still nothing, won't start, he's checked battery and alternator they are fine..........any idea's...could it be fuel pump problem.?

Have you checked the stop solenoid ?.
If it's working leave it alone

:shock:  Glow plugs £140 wow  , should be no more than £35.

just tell him to post model age and engine type and any symptoms, smoke , noises ect.
