That program on tonight about air travel and the environment?

Apparently the new Airbus A380 consumes less fuel per set than even a small family car, so flying is now more fuel efficient than driving.....

Cack, firstly even my Micra has 5 seats, secondly I won't be towing my caravan 3,500 miles just to sit in the sun for a fortnight.

Sorry to anyone who enjoys their 2 weeks in the sun but for me it made a change to see someone else but me vilified for climate change.

Thing is if air travel only accounts for 2% of the worlds Carbon emissions (apparentoy they have reailised that carbon is only one polutant :? ) and motorists even less, where does it all come from?

Other than the hot air spouted by tree-huggers I mean.

That's it, you watch, Tony and the cronies will slap a tax on cows farting next, because cars have leather seats.

:)  :) Why or why are we being constantly bombarded in this Country with this issue....Great Britain is a very very small Country in this World and even if we all went completely green on this one it would hardly make any effect to Global warming...it needs the rest of the world to partisipate...this Government are using this green issue as an open cheque book to rip us all off...rant over, back to me corner

We would have to be taxed on the veg as veg makes oyu fart! Maybe the next step is to tax beans and sprouts?

Seriously I didn't see it (rather a long way from home right now) but did they point out that with aircraft the gas is dumped right in the upper atmosphere so the net effect is at least 4 times. No trees up there you see! Or seawead which contary to political beleif is what actually absorbs most of the CO2 in the world.

Only one solution to global warming....... cut the worldwide human population down to a quarter (or less) of what it is now.
This would end most problems..... no more traffic jams. property/land prices would become more affordable. Nature/wildlife would have a chance to recouperate (is that how you spell it?)
The list is endless.......

Japan (i think) is the highest polutants in the world. apartently if they stop then that'll be half the problem solved! the uk only admits about .08% of the worlds polution apartently. it was on a program not that long ago! pls correct me if i am wrong

Interesting things statistics. I heard thet all the vehicles in the UK equate to 6% of the CO2 emisions, planes about the same. That now appears to be 2%. Either way it ignores the real source of the problem - industry. But that doesn't win votes and it's industry that pays the political parties. Travel and cars are an easy target and make them look as if they are taking action, some people convert that into a vote !

Air con in building s is the big problem. Not really needed in this coutry where the outside air temp rarely reaches above 25 deg C. The temp outside my office window reached 11 deg C in the sun today and yet there are department stores running air con. All that free cool air going to waste???

Get rid of blair and bush and Im sure the co2 would go down by 3/4 as they talk a load of S***
