Buying a cherokee jeep

Hi i'm new and looking to buy my first jeep, i 'm looking for advice.
I am going to look at one, It's a 4.0l ltd auto, full electrics full leather, its black and a 93 k plate with 162k. The only thing that concerns me is the mileage. Is the miles ok and what else should i look for. It will be a second car mostley used by me for traveling to work and the odd excursion. And what price should i offer.
Cheers

You wanna be looking for rust
pre 96-97 ones are prone to it, boot floor for starters, the rear spring hangers and back end of the sills. have a good poke around the petrol tank. lift up the back seat and have prod around in the corners nearest the sills.
If it's still sound and you buy it, get some waxoil or underseal around these places as theres only the thinnest scrapping of the factory stuff
Next make sure there's no whining or funny noises from the back axle, but bear in mind that it does have an LSD, check the 4wd works ok, my mate got stiched up cos he didn't check an it cost him £200 for a new transfer case.
Last thing check the cooling system is in good fettle, it's marginal at best. lookfor splits where the heater hoses terminate at the thermostat housing an the bulkhead.
I think that does it, hope I haven't scared you off

Engines are bomb proof
Rear springs sag but this can be fixed with some diesel ones
Oh and I know someone who breaks them whilst his shirts dry
Price dependant on condition I'd guess @£800 to £1200
Good luck

£500 tops, there are loads of them about, sub 100K miles are less than £800 on a K, also check the front floor pan where chassis rails are, they rust up pretty bad too. Mechanically they will do the miles, just check the bearings, especially the front as they are £100 a side
