Todays ~ Thought for the day.
« on: January 28, 2007, 12:20:00 »
"That you may retain your self-respect, it is better to displease the people by doing what you know is right, than to temporarily please them by doing what you know is wrong."

I try and read all of the thought for the day messages when I visit Mud Club, some make me giggle, others if I'm honest baffle me a bit and then there are the ones like todays, that make me stop and think.

How many times do we do what others want or say just to please them even though we know its either not right or just not what we want to do?  Too many times I think, but then again sometimes its just so much easier isn't it?

I wonder if things would be any different if we all did the right thing and not the 'easy' thing once in a while or would we just be seen as being difficult or disappointing by others?

Anyway thats me done      :D  :D

Yesterday some stupid cretin very very nearly drove into the side of me;  now I feel glad that I stood up for what I knew was right (by waving my fist angrily), rather than do the thing which, judging by her response, she would have wanted (pretending it wasn't blatantly her stupid idiotic fault).

Or have I missed the point of this lesson?
