The overiding impresion I get here is that we as a group make the best effort possible to keep our cars to ourselves as it were, yet the woman who's complaining started this is whinging that she will have to give up her beloved lawn

My heart bleeds for her it really doesn(n't).
Creating a parking space will add value to her home anyway but the thing that really galls me here is we are perceived as being selfish and on this issue (and many others) we are the
least guilty group of individuals.
Mind, I've said it before, they won't let the facts get in the way of a nice bit of prejudice.
