Had an accient. Body panels. Please help/advise
« on: February 01, 2007, 21:37:38 »
I need:

- A new front bumper.
- Left hand side front wing.
- Possibly a new front light surround. Not the plastic but the aluminium.

Dont ask about the accident. Ive just been totally shafted. No win situation.

Paddocks ok on panel quality?
Ive seen genuine panels for £165!

PLEASE if you have info please help me out

Im in a nightmare here.

Bumper - should be loads of guys on here getting rid of ones they've replaced with winch bumpers and the like. Depends on what you're looking for exactly don't it :)

Wing - probably worth getting a genuine one. Know I was reading up on previous bits (mine needs a new outer wing too from previous owner's damage :)) and a lot of the pattern parts dont fit very well. Can't imagine it's THAT expensive even from LR if you don't need a full one. Guess a breaker's yard is the next best stop, might even find a good one in your colour!

Not sure what the other bit is you're talkign about precisely, presume the little panel in front of the 'wing' around the headlight area? Guess the same for this as above...

Just a few ideas anyway :)

I agree - there are lots of bumpers around, especially on MC since many of us are replacing bumpers as said above. If you want to replace the wing, I'd shop around for a good price on genuine parts - try dealerships, they sometimes have odd parts knocking around.

APB in Worcestershire are always good in my experience - they have special deals and salvage parts also, it's worth bartering:

Good luck with the task. And while i'm here, i'm not going to ask about the accident, but i'll wait patiently for you to tell when the anger does die down. (Been cut up by a white van? )

Realy sorry to hear about your accident, but yours still has less dints than mine

i would go for a second hand bumper and genuine landy wings, if you phone a dealer ask them if they do an owners club disscount it usualy works you should get 10% knocked off ;)

Ian

It would appear I have  :D

Its annoying when you know you shouldnt be paying a penny for any repairs anyway, but it seriously helps when a fellow LR mate helps out BIG TIME.

As Ian said, Im sorted now. Hes sending me:

- Left wing for my TD5 in blue. Genuine part, just needs respray.
- Front Genuine bumper.

All for a price to lighten the darkest of 90 owning hours.

So, thanks everyone for your links and sympathy! 8)

Just need to find out how much the paint job is going to be!!!!!  :|  :-k

THANKS IAN (The LR part Godfather) and EVERYONE WHO POSTED.

I can guess what's happen there.  I'd say leave the panels as they aren't that bad, S/H bumper of HD unit of your choice and keep your eye on e-blag etc for panels the right colour as and when they come up.
