its getting closer to the time when im gona mot the v8 for this year  8)

but the hazard switch is naff and shorts everything out.... as shes a 2a and a old gal and is tax exempt would i get away with taking it out completly for the mot or do i need the damn thing?

im itching to drive her again

If it's fitted, it's tested and has to be working.

That's right.  As far as I'm aware, hazards were never standard fitment on the Series 2A.

I failed an mot for not having one :-.

I just shorted the left and right indicator feeds to each other and then put the indicators on :)

As posted, its not mandatory on a 2a, but if fitted it will be tested and failed if not working, I had a fault on a S3, took the whole switch out, from the plug in the dash, and it was never mentioned on the test

only has to be fitted after 1 apr 1986, but if fitted will be tested as said above.

my old 1976 series 3 never had hazzards and it never failed an mot.

If you can't be arsed takeing it out (on some vehicles they can upset the power to the normal indicator switch) Then duck tapeing over the switch should do it.  The tester can't remove the tape and won't know what its surposed to be.
