he made the whole job look all glossy but I'm sure it wasn't all a bed of roses. i read somewhere that they reckoned the finished vehicle was worth 100.000 squids , i doubt it my self.
really good program but to much like a Haynes manual , 'heres one i prepared earlier' type of thing.
and way to much time wasted showing people drive round a field in suzukis.
if it isent broke , whack it with a hammer ,

Yup dvd for me too.

I found a few things annoying, like not showing the shortenening of the back of the 110 tub...

Otherwise i found it very informative and entertaining, hell even got my gf to watch it and half enjoy it...
Unpassable you say?!

Ooo, I think I was the only one that thought it was 'Pimp My Ride' for 4x4s.

Like a lot of bolt on stuff that can be brought, I wasn't overly impressed with the finished vehicle - a lot of cash for some big compromises and for what real purpose? So some Z-lister can say - oooo, look how much travel I've got. My view is it ain't what you got, it's what you do with it.

I was given it on DVD when I had actually asked for an Outback Challenge. Now, there's some trucks!  8)

Cheers

The programme is good from an entertainment point of view, but no use if you want to build a 100" defender

Theres no soul in it just a bored person looking at a scrapiron catalouge with a fat wallet sat next to it.

For me the finished aritical would be a nice runarounf if you removed the ton ofcrap thats bolted to it. One other thing i thought was why only a 3.5? I know the larger engines suffer with some problems but if i was building a truck like that i'd have a tweaked 4.2 lying under the bonnet.

Good to watch and did see one or two other ways of doing things but IMHO: BRING BACK OFF THE ROAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
if you you can make it i can break it.

Its a good show, if only for inspiration.

Mark Evans, the presenter, has done loads of shows like this (westfield, motorbikes etc) and generally the projects are sold at the end to pay for the next show. I think the one exception to this was the 4x4, which he kept (bought off discovery channel?).

At the end of the day, the TV show has to be economiclly viable to make. That means popular and appeal to more than just a very small minority. as the post above said, even his girlfriend watched it.

btw I think the presenter is/used to be a vet, though I may be wrong.
