Horn not working
« on: February 12, 2007, 11:34:57 »
The horn in my Disco ('94 200tdi) has stopped working. I've checked the horn itself and it works Ok, and so is the switch (Ive checked the voltage across the fuse).
Tracing the wires ive found that it seems to be switched through the alarm unit, does that seem right? If the alarm goes off then the horn does work. Does anybody know what may be causing this, do I need a new alarm unit? (the Haynes manual doesnt show this part of the wiring!)

Please help, I have got my MOT coming up!

Many thanks

Sam

Then bypass the alarm or fit another horn, sound like the link through the alram box is broken somehow but I wouldn't want to go messing with it myself if that's all that's wrong with it.

Where exactly is the horn that is not working?
The one mounted on the inner wing is the alarm sounder, the normal beep beep out of the way horns are mounted behind the grille, one either side.
