prop uj's ?
« on: February 12, 2007, 19:18:18 »
when i got new uj's for both props i could only find one size for both, when i went to fit them the rear prop uj's were smaller.

would this be due to the fact that it's an early 90 (it's a 1984 model ) and might have series 111 props fitted ?

or, would it be due to it being bodged by the previous owner ?

AFAIK there are two different u/j's fitted. I would have expected both props to be the same.
Well it is a Land Rover.
They could be factory fitted. They could have been changed by a previous owner.

I've been there.
yes as Mike says there are 2 different types for the 90, early ones and late ones. I can't remember which is the bigger one, because I have 2 90's and they are both different yet both about the same age. I think one has a later propshaft fitted which just adds to my confusion :?
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!

Your Land Rover dealer should keep them in stock.

I have to take my broken one down there and get a replacement because I can never remember which one is which.
Fortunately (for the moment) I have a spare 90 sitting next to my other one, so I just rolling rob it then fix the other one. I'll have to buy another prop shaft so I can fix it if/when the spare 90 eventually sells.
Mind you I've not had to fix one for a while cos I've made sure I keep them lubed up.
If theres a harder way to do it I`ll find it!!
