2inch lift question

ive fitted my oldman emu spings yesterday and all went pretty easy .
the only question i have is the front are quite sitting on the spring mount at the bottom.

measuring there appears to be no difference and i installed them with th e label the right way .

i presume they will settle in as it makes no diffeence to the drive just i know they are`nt right at present,

Anyone had a simular prob did it sort its self out in the end.

Ive thought about turning them over but i dont think it will make any difference.

they do have A & B on them for driver and pass side so they are correct,

My other thought is i bought the heavy duty ones to account for winch and all the other bolt on goodies i will install over a period of time so maybe they are a bit heavy duty at present

they should sit flat no matter h/d or not, the chances are they will 'ping' into position as you drive up the road.
you could jack the body up, not axle, and try and twist the spring about and it should sit proper.

drove up abump and the pass side is in place now, im sure slab common will sort out the drivers side on sunday

I found speed bumps at 40+ work very well for settling springs!!! 8)  8)

I found the HD OME springs to be quite harsh at first. They can take quite a while to soften up. The fronts on mine have now begun to settle and are probably 1" lower than when they were installed about 3 years ago. But they now give far more articulation than before.

I had OME on my last 90 and yes the ride bit seem a little harsh at first then it did get softer but never sagged not even a little bit

i ordered the springs from Devon. wasnt really a kit

shocks came from them to via Challenger4x4  (near me) i already bought the fronts that were fitted to my old zuk.

as it happens the emu shocks werent long enough, basically 1/4inch of upward travel, no amount of settlling in was gonna make them work so i brought a set of 4 procomps +2s. which did mean i saved a few pennies and these are spot on.  I must say ride isnt bad at all. usuall harshness over a speedbump but not as bad as on the zuks

but i also bought the plus 30mm bump stops which ive fitted to the rear, i need to look at the front but the stock ones look ok but we will see,

 but i m now thinking plus 5 or more rear shocks dislocating cones and few bits as the rear axle is screaming out for more travel.

i need to check the prop angles and such but i suspect someone will come along and tell me what limit it will go with stock prop.


but thanks for the tip, im sure offroading sunday will sort that driver spring out it just need sa bit of abuse,

as for the kit i didnt even take the wheels off to fit was easy.
took longer to go measure shocks and drive to the shop to get replacement shocks etc.

make sure your sat down when you call devon for a price on the emu.
by the way anyone want to buy a pair of emu front shocks, only used twice and in boxes they are pretty much stock length maybe a tad more.

I can't vouch for the Defender but I fouond that if you fit longer then plus 2" (maybe 3" at a push) then the damper will bottom out before the axle hits the bump stop.  As you have remedied this you could safely go to plus 4" dampers.

I have +5" shocks all round on my 110, have a llok at www.gwynlewis4x4.co.uk

I also do the rough country shocks .
Not to far away from you either ?
The OME stuff is expensive but ges great reviews. I also like the bearmach blues. Decent spring for good price.
