Anyone got a spare doggy ??
« on: February 17, 2007, 16:05:53 »
Howdy, After the sad loss of our cat (after 23 years of ownership) we are now looking to aquire a pooochy,   A medium size , sort of collie/springer type thingy really, But most will be potential candidates, not worried about a pedigree, as we are quite happy with a "mutt"

Ideally a year or two old would be ideal, we are mainly out n about people, and have some lovely walks and farmland  all within walking distance from our house, we also go shooting quite regulary, and of course off roading/lanes

We had a scoot around the surrounding shelters/rescue places today but not found any suitable candidates for the job (as yet)  So thought i would put a post up on here incase some one out there knows of a needy pooch ??

many thanks for your time in reading this[/b]

Visit your local rescue centre.  When we were on holiday last summer (Burnham, nice for dogs) everyone we met semed to have or know a rescue dog, it disgusts me that so many dogs need a new home.

Take greyhounds for example, that guy was jailed for burying them in his back yard and yet they make briliant pets, they only need a short (very fast) walk once a day and other than that are quiet, placid almost lazy dogs and good pets if you don't have a rabbit :?

ANyway, I wish you luck in finding a new pet and hope he/she makes you as happy as our two do.
