well
its a topic been covered before
but basically the problem with webbing is
in a straight pull, its ok(ish)
but the slightest of side pull and all the stress it transfered to one side of the webbing and bang, it snapps
look at one of your tree strops, twist it and kink it you'll see what i mean
stick with the wire rope or splash out on the genuine plasma 12 strand (purple in colour)
and you wont regret it      best thing you could ever possably buy your winch, or a bigger motor

Plasma (genuine) is also available in green and orange, dependent on where you buy it from.

They do a nice shade of Orange that was used on the G4!

But you can get other colours like green and white from other manufacturers.

As stated above and here it was.
http://forums.mud-club.com/viewtopic.php?t=26634&highlight=samson+winch+web

One of the biggest prepblems it seemed to find was the wear aspect of webbing with edges compared to rope without edges.

from what i know & im allowed to tell you but they buy it in rolls at a time & the supplier will only order it when there is a sufficent order of enough rope
