Software question
« on: February 21, 2007, 18:58:24 »
Hi,  am looking for some software that can generatre a cutting list for steel.

By that I mean, I type in all the lengths I require, type in the length of the stock, and the program generates the best way to cut the steel to minimse waste.

Anyone know of any such software ????

Many thaks

I'd suggest contacting GSD on 01299 827592 as they do a lot of excellent software for steel stockholders and have done for many years.

There are a number of freeware programs atht will optimise cutting from sheet so there must be one for bar, have you tried tucows?

Might, *MIGHT* be able to have a go at knocking something up to achieve this goal if I can get my head around it tonight. Been a couple of years since I did any proper coding mind so don't get too hopeful! But at least if I do manage it it won't cost you owt!

Providing it stays as quite as this all night I should be able to work out how to do it properly.
