Ive just bought this

What can you tell me about it? It has a couple of problems I will need help with, the ABS light comes on every now and then and the ABS kicks in too much occasionally and makes a grinding noise, also the PAS only works when turning right. Oh and there is a water leak behind the O/S headlamp. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I could be wrong but I would think the steering box is shot...

Sounds like the ABS sensors or tone-rings need a clean.....

Water leak coming from the offside??? not much there to leak apart from the side of the rad.....

I took it out this afternoon but there was no water leak this time, how much will it set me back if it is the steering box? Any ideas about the ABS kicking in hard?

How can I check the sensors and the tone rings? If I buy a haynes manual will it show me? I really need to get this done as its a bit dangerous. A mechanic friend of mine has just had it up on the ramp and could find nothing wrong, although when it came back down the PAS was working again!?  Also he says the rear diff is whining, is this big trouble?  :(
