technically speaking, it must be.. its just using the secure connection on the same domain. although basically speaking, its probably not? wierd? or maybe you've let the cat out the bag ;)

That's virtual hosting (not) at work.  The server that hosts www.mud-club.com can (and does) also host other web site, such as www.muddyweb.com.

It's nothing nefarious, it's just the way the virtual hosting is configured for SSL (https) pages.
