PayPal holding onto funds
« on: February 25, 2007, 22:32:21 »
Is anyone else having this problem where Paypal take the money out of your account the day you pay for your E-bay item BUT hang onto the payment for a week or so before sending the E-cheque to whoever you bought the goods off ????,Ive got a feeling I know why   :x  :x  and if it is what iam thinkin it is,is it legal :?:

P.S I have 100% feedback and have never had any problems before

Did you pay via E-Cheque or by bank transfer. E-cheques take AGES... and I paid with that by mistake once, never again!

If you accidently pay with E-cheques it seems to take longer than if you had sent an actaul cheque to them!! Mine took 10days to clear!!

I ALWAYS make sure I pay straight from my bank now.

Must admit, I didn't realise what I had done until i looked into it!!

they havent the fund to pay then!
e cheques are a nightmare, i wouldnt take them, if they have the money then they would bank fund payments so it is an instant payment.

PayPal seem to pick and choose themselves, some of mine went e-cheque but I hadn't chosen that method (didn't check either mind you) and yes you could walk there and back faster.

Hadn't noticed them taking teh money straight away though.

I paid for a few things using e-cheque without realising. If your backup funds thingy is a credit/debit card check it hasnt expired.

You can see if they've paid by eCheque by looking at your PayPal account.  If they have it will clearly state eCheque and show the expected clearing date.

If they haven't then file a NPB report and re-list or use the Second Chance Offer option.
