Unemployed....
« on: February 27, 2007, 12:48:04 »
Tomorrow 28/02/07, my current contract ends \:D/  =D> ....  I'll be moving out of the property at lunchtime, back to stoke-on-trent (temporary base to look for work from)....
A new career in 360 Excavator operating beckons.... Seems to be 100's of jobs out there, but all seem to be agency work (we all know agencies advertise fake jobs to get your details on their books) .
If any of you guys know of a construction/civil engineering/heavy plant hire company needing someone who can re-locate to various areas as work comes in... let me know.
licensed to operate any "tracked" excavator above 10t upto largest machines available (think thats 500t in the UK).

It's illegal for them to advertise for jobs they don't actually have (equivelent to advertising something for sale you don't have).

A quick report to the industry ombundsman  usually works wonders.

Annoys the hell outta me when agencies do it.

That aside - good luck with the new role!

Cheers

:D Thanks Guys

Every single job on the jobcentre website for machines above 10ton (apart from 3 jobs) are for agencies  . I called one agency about a job on Gloucester docks (supposedly immediate start), they said they'd call me back an hour later... but didnt
Most of them also seem to be advertising the exact same jobs in various other counties :?  :?

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.

Try this lot:

http://www.barhale.co.uk/index.php

They're doing a load of work round my way, all on what looks to be brand new plant.  Could be worth a go as they've got loads of offices all round the place.
