got my vitara!!! now whats the ticking noise???

got my 93 vitara soft top today and only few minor probs main one beng on throttle or acceleration there is a ticking friom engine bay sounds similar to tappets but i remember a friend having an vitara with same noise??? i think it may be something to do with exhaust???? any ideas welcome :)

Probobly tappets, warm her up, get the cover off and check/adjust the clearances.

Could also be alternator or anything on the belts.

And in the case of The Rabbit, that damn tin hetshield over the passenger side engine mount ocasionally makes tap/ting noises.

Finally could be something in the bellhousing too.

If it does it when the ing is on then it will be your fuel pump the one the in laws have makes a ticking noise when the pump is working. Its normally located by the battery so it sounds loud in the car.
