Spring colour codes
« on: March 04, 2007, 12:30:44 »
Hi,
I'm just in the process of changing the springs on my Disco, I have removed Pink/red's from the rear and have fitted Brown/grey,
the only thing is the pink/reds appeared to be about an inch or more taller (when uncompressed) than the brown\grey ones, I assume the pink\reds compress more due t being lighter duty is there any way I can look up the spring colour codes, thanks - Keith

I have a page of springs/colours clipped from the interweb........  I forget where.

See attached word doc.

The brown and grey are military spec............  suspect they will be a bit hard!

Ah........  I've found it online again...........

http://members.shaw.ca/jbarge/springinfo.html

You have taken off:  210lbs/in at 16.06in free length, and put on 286lbs/in, free length unknown.........  except you can measure them.

They aren't that much stiffer but being new I recon you will notice a difference.
