Credit/Debit Card Clone
« on: March 07, 2007, 18:08:53 »
Hi Guys

Went to get a tenner out today only to find i was £1000 into my £500 overdraft.

Went into the bank and got a statement which show my card had been used in italy, franch and the us.

Told the bank who were very helpful and said i would get my money back soon (2 weeks)

I've never given the card details out on the net so its ether when i've paid a credit card bill on the phone or when i've used it in the wellingborough area

So just a warning to keep an eye on your accounts

Great Bridge. It was the bank that asked about payment of fuel.

Only pay cash now don`t use the card to pay for fuel.

But chip and pin was supposed to stop this..... :)
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

One of our loacal BP garages has been shut down due to cloning cards/dodgy fuel.Run by Sri Lankans and card details were being sent by text messages-last i heard they took about £250,000 out of local people. The bad news is they are still running another BP station 1 mile down the road and the local dealers use that one.

Funny you should say that because Police in Hull have recently arrested 4 men all asians and 2 of them were the garages owner. they tampered with the chip and pin machines in the garage and pointed the cctv camera at the cash machine outside. and recorded everyone entering their pin numbers.

The amounts run into several hundred thousand pounds.

It was the Jet filling Station on Princes Avenue. Hull If you've ever used the place be scared be very scared.
