I don't really want to cause a fuss and I'm sure that what happened was not someone on here

Yesterday I was out laning in the Berkshire/Hampshire area. Lovely weather, had a nice chat with a couple of groups of horse riders and a woman walking her dogs - no hassle just spending some time building our reputation up with other countryside users.

As we got to the end of one of the lanes coming down the tarmac were two trail riders who, at speed, went down an opening opposite to where we were coming out - checked the map and the clearly marked and sign posted and guess what - they were racing down a footpath!

I know it's only the minority, and not just limited to bike riders, that do this but it does make me angry

Rant over

It is annoying mate because all the work you have just put in with the other people, has just been thrown out the window because of two IDIOTS. It doesn't matter what you drive/ride it's about using common sense and being responsable about doing it.

Saw loads of bikers yesterday and every one of then waved or nodded to us and gave us as wide a berth as we gave them.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Please make no mistake - whilst the title of this post may be misleading it's not a pop at trail riders - I come across many who use the countryside with respect - It's the few, both in cars and on bikes, who mess it up for the vast majority

Didnt think you where, I was just adding contrast.

I know well enough what you mean though, see a lot of stolen bikes in our local woddland being used for this. Had to laugh at someone trying to do it on a Honda Melody a while back :)
