bulkhead and rear end problems
« on: March 13, 2007, 16:19:37 »
first of all hello mud clubbers, new to this forum and only just got back into land rovers.
hopefully some one will be able to help me out!!!!!

1) just got hold of a 110 and need to replace the bulkhead and was wondering how they take to being powder coated, i didn't know if they would buckle under the heat or not

2) the rear tyre of the 110 is hitting the rear end of the wheel arch, even if parked up, i've measured the wheel base and it's more or less bang on, the body work does not seem to of have moved, no bent outriggers or signs of high impact, just can't work it out, the tyres are 175/10.5/16 but cant see this as being a problem as i'd thought they would've taken up the whole of the wheel arch.....

any clues ideas would be gratefull

I fitted a new bul;kead last year and had it both galvanised & powder coated.  The foot wells warped slightly, but not detremantally.
I fitted a 1/4 inch angle iron accross the bottom of the bulkhead to prevent any warping.
Galving cost me £70 powder coating £117.50.

Powder coating was scratching off as I fitted the bulkhead.
PM and I'll try and send some pics
