Well I am now officially in need of a change of underwear - lol
My friend of 16 years came and visited us on Saturday, and announced he is getting married Next Year  :D  :D

But has asked me to be his BEST MAN
So that involves me wearing a suit   - AND making a speech
Anyone have any experience, and tips???
At least I have 13 months to get used to the idea -and come up with a speech!!

I was once tasked, sorry, asked to be best man to a good mate. The speech was the best bit.
I got hold of lots of old photos of him and doctored them with the old 'poota' and got them put onto a PowerPoint presentation.
I have to say it went well, apart from when I showed a piccy of the bride in the bath, and asked why her father was taking piccys of her in the bath. That bit fell on stony ground, but hey I found it funny.
Another tip would be tie the ring to a very, very long piece of string so as not lose it. It makes the vicar giggle when you spend 5 minutes pulling the string out of your trousers, especially if you have tied a few comedy coloured hankies onto the string!
One thing not to do, is get ratted the night before, fall over, whacking your face on the bedside table resulting in a very large black eye. It tends to spoil the photos.

I did it last year for by brother, most nerve-wrecking thing I’ve ever done! If you get stuck on the speech, then this website might help.

I once hid a helium balloon under the table, just before the speech,I bent down as if to pick something up. Took a lungful, got the first sentence out and the whole room creased as I sounded like one of one of Ken Dodd's Diddy men,

The first time i was best man was for my bro in law.
I had a tape of Rowan Atkinson and one of his sketches was the best mans speech. I nicked a few lines from that and added a few more myself and had loads of comments from the guests that it was the funniest best mans speech they had ever heard.

Wonder if you can Google Rowan Atkinsons speech :?:
Cheers, Nathan.
