Juddering/vibration in 1 and 2
« on: March 22, 2007, 15:17:31 »
Hi Folks

my new SJ (new to me, 1994 in real terms!!) has a strange shuddering effect when you pull away in 1st and through 2nd.  It isn't horrendous bu tis a bit odd.  tyres and balancing and tracking are aol OK.  It doesn't affect the handling and goes away in all other gears.  It doesn't seem to appear under braking or going down the gears.  All other gears are fine and low ratio is fine too.  Any ideas?

Its off for a full service this week but not sure if there is anything I need to mention to the mechanic to perhaps consider checking out?

Thanks in advance

Geoff

Crank shaft oil seal leaking oil onto the clutch pressure plate?

More likely to be the gearbox/t-box mounts as mentioned though.  Just a thought :)
