New job and moving to Woking, Surrey
« on: March 24, 2007, 09:16:14 »
today is my last day for my current rally team and I am then heading down to Woking in Surrey to work for McLaren.  Having only been there twice for the interview I havent really seen much of it.

Are there any decent lanes down there?  Also need to try and find somewhere to live in the next 3 weeks, but need somewhere to keep 2 cars and all the rest of my rubbish!  Will be renting for 6 months until I am settled in, then looking to buy.  Don't suppose anyone knows of anywhere that isnt stuipidly expensive for a 6 month short lease?

Cheers fellas!

Good luck with the new job, matey! If you any spare cars laying about.......
In relation to lanes, I'm not familiar with Surrey, but there are some good ones in 'Ampshyre. Plus (dramatic pause) 'The Plain' (further dramatic pause) is relatively near.
A quick trip down the A303 and ye be there! But watch out for the strange green things that live there! Frightening they be!
They comes in all shapes and sizes, and they has strange charriots with long pokey things that go bang on them! Scare 'ee, they will! Especially if ye meets one head on!

There are a reasonable amount of lanes in Surrey - I know of a days worth between Guildford and Dorking. I'd be happy to show you them once you get down this way.

There are other people that will know the lanes closer to you (Woking area).

In terms of accomodation - everything is relative, but renting in Surrey is unlikely to be cheap! If you want any info on specific areas, I will try and help.

most of the good lanes are between woking and dorking.
loads if you head down the A3 towards hindhead.

as for houses, bloody expensive round this way. :o

Mellors Elliot Motorsport is where I used to work.  Not sure they are looking for anyone else, as rather than doing loads of privateers cars they are moving into S2000 running just 2 cars
