hi, we're looking at selling our series 3, but we're not really too sure about a price.

what do you think?...

its an A reg, 1984 series 3.

88" wheelbase
2.25 diesel
FULL years MOT.
6 month road tax
overdrive
virtually new mud terrain BF Goodrich tyres
freewheeling front hubs
110" shackles on the rear

bull bars, with WIPAC 100w spot lamps.
rear work lamps.
folding rear sideways seats.

many spares included, including new chassis, gearbox, engine, 5 new alloy wheels (never fitted), plus some extra's.

generally very good condition all over.

receipts for all work, including, new brake shoes just fitted, new clutch cylinder

including 10months membership to langdale quest

pictures to follow...

Flimbo

why are you giving all those spares away with the LR?

Only reason i ask is it makes me think that the chassis is shot and the engine is on its way out as well as transmission.

What are the condition of the present chassis, engine and transmission?
What are the extras you are giving with it?

we bought the landy about 3 1/2 years ago from a local guy.
when we bought it, he gave us everything extra that he had, from another land rover he had stripped down. this is what we will be including in the sale.

the chassis on the land rover we are selling is solid. it is not shot.

the engine starts up everytime, first time, almost instantly. it does not smoke any more than you would expect, infact, it smokes very little. it also sounds very good, as a couple of local garages have mentioned when they have carried out work on it. they were surprised by it.

the transmission is also fine. gears are selected easily, and it does not whine or anything like that.

the simple reason we are including the items, is because we will no longer have any need for them at all. so why hang on to them?

it may be better financially to sell seperately, which is an option, but for ease, we thought of selling as a package.

so no idea's on prices guys? i'll do my best to get my camera back, and get some pictures on here tonight.

thanks.

The suspension shackles are also known as Military drop shackles.

It looks to be in very good nick to me. Is the engine the same 2.25 diesel, and the gearbox a Series 3?

I would a good price would be £1500 to £2000, more to the 2k side. Have a look round and see what others are advertised at, and take your basis from that. Yours looks tidier than most, and the overdrive is a big plus over other Series 3s.

Don't forget, it's only worth what people will pay for it, and it will matter where you advertise, for instance, you'll get less on ebay that you will from Auto trader, or one of the four Landrover Magazines (LRO, LRE, LRM, LRW), though it should sell quicker (don't forget a reserve if you need a certain amount for it).

It may be worth including mpg in an advert, if you have any figures.

Looks good, straight and tidy, I'd say £2 at least if the chassis as clean.

ok, thanks guys. thats pretty similar to what we were thinking of as we have seen ones in pretty much the same condition on ebay and autotrader, etc.

the chassis is also in good condition, with no rot.

thanks.
