immobilser problem (sorted)

ok went to tesco today did shoping went to car unlocked as usaul pressing button twice to unlock all doors

went to start engine and nothing happened compleatly dead  :shock:  i then went  :evil:  :evil:

anyway once composed my self i tryed to eliminate posible problems

tryed arming disarming,

opening and closing all sensord pionts doors boot bonnet ,

reseting fuel cut thing in bonnet,

jump onto battery to elliminate possible flat that might caused it not to

disarm correctly,

then we did that door key unlocking procedure entering code to disarm

then tryed all of above after removing battery terminals to ensure that

they were geting good contact

even sent wife to buy new battery for fob just to be sure  

nothing seemed to work

then suddenly it just started dont know what i did to get it to work but

desided to not risk turning it off and sped of home as it was running

so wife and kids home safe lets see if itl start

well what you think not blooming likely agian faft about no joy has not

started as i write this, ok what should i be doing to sort any ideas can i

tempory buypass the imobiliser so if i cant fix it i can get it to someone

that can

please help as we use the freelander daily as we live in the sticks and cant

afford another wacking big bill on it yet

i beg and plea to you on hands and knees

 HELP :D  :D  :D  i was qiut upset but have cameld down still love the bloody freelander  :D

oh ment to say if you brake down in my local tesco (galashiles)  they will send out the AA for free and get you and your motor home how cool

so always try park at there store just in case  :wink:

Yor car is a 1.8 petrol (form your love em post)

I know how to do this on the Elise which is the same engine, ecu and probs same alarm system.

please email me at dedwards@zennor.co.uk and ill tell you as I dont want to post this for all too see.

I am going over to my barn tomorrow where the elsie lives and ill take a photo of the imobiler so you can see (identify the part).  Ill try my best. If I get time ill mail you early so you can have a go without phots.

HI
i have this fault at our local pet shop
the remote doesn't work at all
so enter with key and then spend 10 minutes waiting for
the immo to disarm
something to do with the stores movement sensors
interferring with the alarm/immo frequency
i now park well away from the building

Bad new, I have just checked my manuals and the imobilisers are different.
EWS-3D on the freelander and Lucas 5AS on the Lotus.
I dont  think my bypass method will work. but ill send it anyway if you want.

sorted damaged cabling at the imobiliser ecu was the cause of fault.

so heres my day i explored my motor and found damaged wiring in leads running from  the mobilier ecu

they would appear to hve rub up on an edge of the body work barring 2 right back to the cooper and shorted out on said body work.

thinking back i remember the wife said one day it apeared dead so has been developing over time makes sence as the cables wear throw.

when pulled of of body car started no problem let them loose and they pushed back onto body car no start.

so i cut soldered and shrink rapt them and cable tyed out of danger

all appears to be ok after much immobilising and unimobilising so laind it this afternoon to give it a bit rattle about all good.

much happiness that this was nothing major can now say if been round the hole car with a fine toothcome now amazing how much mud is hidden in some of the corners on it. realy needs a dam good clean make that this weekends job before go out in it again

thank fully this was an easy fix when i found the fault.

hope this might prove helpfull to someone else at some point.
