There definitely is mate - not had a landy since September and I hate it!!

I've had to re-learn to park and everything - it actually matters now if I hit the kerb.

Yeah, it's great getting 45mpg, but it's so boring I have to frive like a nutter to stay awake - in my Disco I could sit at 50-60 all day long if I wanted without so much as a hint of a yawn...

Plans are afoot for another one, but not likely to be this year.

And just to top it off, even though my VW Bora is in a lower insurance group, has no mods and a 1.9 Tdi engine, it's more expensive to insure than the Disco.

I agree with Bezzabsa - spill a bit of oil about the place and rub some fresh oil/grease/mud onto your fave old T-shirt. Almost as good as the smell of napalm in the morning...

Yes mate, it's called solvency, with a working motor as a side effect

Yep! I tried to kick the habit. Thought I could survive on a VW Golf and the odd trash on a bike.
It was easy at first. I just kept on telling myself that I was saving lodes of cash. But the withdrawal symptoms kicked in. I started to hang around at the entrance to lanes or found myself driving along counting how many Land Rovers I met coming the other way. Or standing in the newsagents pawing over the Landy mags like some sort of demented pervert.
After eighteen months I was a complete wreck. I had to have my fix of the green stuff.

I believe there is no cure...

I know exactly how you feel!  I am in the throws of collecting money from left right and centre to try and afford another.

I feel a decrepid old ninety coming on.  It will annoy me, it will be slow and drink fuel.  I will love it!  :D
