Replacement part more than Genuine one?
« on: March 29, 2007, 13:45:52 »
Audi URQ rear o/s wheel bearing.

Unipart special : £64.95
Genuine Audi part : £23.50

Sure thats the wrong way round. Also found I have two chassis numbers, which really messed the parts system up. Never actually looked for the chassis number before as its on all the paperwork. :)

Audi GMBH Germany, Type B4A

Audi GMBH Germany, S2 Evaluation Platform

Odd, but funny when he realised what was going on. Aparently I HAVE to take it in when I collect the bearing so their parts department and engineers can check it will fit. Yeah, Right.
I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

Perhaps the Main Stealers are waking upto the fact that they are losing a lot of cash.
Its a shame Land Rover don't do the same thing as Audi and Merc.

With the bulk buying power of the manuf. it should be cheaper.  All R&D has been done by them/ their suppliers  to build the car, If a company wants to make pattern they have to start from scratch

Just my logic  :?

You can thank the fleet buyers for this, expensive spares don't go down well with them so manufacturers slash part prices to get fleet sales.
