The presumption is 'Yes'

Sadly I can't remember what county it's in so you can contact the relevant body.

Again, the presumption is, that 'Top Gear' got special dispensation for their useage of the beach - or was the final filming finished before the ban took place??

It has a few soft-spots near the top end (ie; furthest east), as I know from bitter experience

Pendine is closed to cars now. Local Parish Council and Carmarthenshire CC decided that H & S made it too dangerous for kids to play with moving vehicles in the vicinity.

Was the Top Gear prog done on the MOD section of the beach, or was it filmed on the other beach they use on the other side of the Estuary?

You can drive on Black Rock beach and Newport, Pembrokeshire, but don't go too far west, near the river, on the latter!

It's a fairly good guess that the sequence when they landed the Hercules on the beach was on the MoD controlled section

We've been on Black Rock in the past as well, if that's the one where you pay to park on the sands near PortMadoc

That's the one; I think it's 4 quid now but there is almost always open sand, especially at low tide as then the beach is just huge!

Don't waste your time it's totally flat. Is heavily patrolled and has a 5mph speed limit the dunes are a big no no. and it's usually packed with numpies jetski-ing or boyracers trying to avoid the patrols whilst doing dougnuts. The only interesting bit is at the portmeirion end where the estuary is. Though I did drive round the cliffs and on to the Cricceth side of the beach, one night. When the tide was out

Oh and watch out for kite boarders.

Sounds very much like Formby just up the road

I can get the Mrs and kids and dog on the beach without carrying all the gear in the summer
