Jury service rocks :-)
« on: April 11, 2007, 18:17:19 »
Today was my first day as a jurer.

Well after a stressful start paying £7 for car parking and hanging around from 8:30am to 11:30am and all of us getting sent home as the only case the chap pleaded guilty, so no need for us to stay any longer!

So as the courts were paying for the car parking I decided to wonder around town and do a tad of shopping, got home at 2pm and sat in the sun and dozed off then read one of me magazines

Just given the jurers hotline a call to see if I am needed tomorrow and no I'm not. I have checked the forms my agency filled out and the line that says

Will the employee be able to return to work on any full day that they are not required to attend court? Yes No

The agency have said no. So a day off tomorrow being paid for it and it is supposed to be great weather too

If only I could do this as a full time job!!!

Well I bloody hate jury duty - pain in the butt when you are self employed
Last two times I had to do it we were all chucked out at 11.30 am - and were allowed to claim the princely sum of £29.19 !
So the whole day is ruined for less than 30 quid - how is this fair !?   :?

Think I'll become a crim so I don't have to do it any more
The nice part of living in a small town is that when I don't know what I am doing, someone else does
