Been offered a 2.5 turbo diesel RR with a VM engine in it, are they any good? It's on a H plate and looks sound with 167thou on the clock, manual gearbox.
I know jack about RR's so any advise would be appreciated :D
What sort of price should I be looking to pay, it has an MOT until Nov and Tax til August

VM engine varry depending on how they have been treated, compared to the TDI they are more suseptible to abuse (overheating damage etc.).
The last VM range rover we bought came from a land rover engineer who reconded with good maintenance the VMs should do 250 thousand miles. Having said that its already on its second engine and thats got a little water in the oil (in both cases a blocked radiator being the primary cause).
The value of any range rover varries greatly on the level of rust. There are about a doven key ares which rust first, namely sills and around the front and rear wheel arches.

dont touch it with a sh!tty stick! honestly, i know there are people out there who have run them for however long and swear by em, but after owning one and speaking to those who have owned one before said they wouldnt go back to it! Speaks for itself really when a diesel is on its 2nd engine when the rest of em generally go on forever if treated right!

Love them or hate them, there's not much midle ground.
In it's day it was a good, solid engine with lots of sound design ideas./ They were fitted by lots of peeps, not just Rover/Land Rover but Jeep too.
Buy on condition, remeber that prices are on their a**e at the moment with more sellers than buyers so if it's not the right one walk away.
As a guide a really good 200TDi RRC might still fetch 2K from a trader.
There's aguy in Rotherham with a E reg RRC asking £3,500 :(biglaugh):
