I was in the vets this morning with my Jack Russel and mentioned this to the vet. He said that they have started to scan every dog that is new to the practice to see if it has a chip and to see if the details match the "Owner". A Staff was recovered this way a few weeks ago, apparently stolen from devon and brought to wales, Police said that it was stolen 3 months ago, the new "Owner" had bought the dog from a man in a pub after seeing an advert in the free ads.
