« on: April 30, 2007, 17:28:01 »
    i hearby swear never ever ever ever to do a diy job on the disco again.............  "after ive used up the bits ive already bought"

foolishly tricked myself into thinking i could fit my new exhaust in the morning easy peasy

wrongggggggggggg    started off with couldnt get off exhaust off the hangers... that was the first session of swearing...

then when it finally came off could i get the damn thing out from under the car between the axle.... that was the second session of swearing it was lucky it was stuck under car it woulda been launched down the drive.

Next stage was refitting it easy peasy back box through and on plate folded over grrrrrrrrrr would the middle can line up and slide on the pegs grrr now i will admit that did get slung from under the car went for a break and bashed me head on way out

came back and got it all on loverly to find that the rear section had come off the hanger... after vast amounts of how much i hated landrover and there stupid discoverys my dad pop`d round and between the 2 of us with a bit of force its on ............ and thats all im gona say grrrr

ooo and i knocked a pigging bumpstop off too :'(

Sounds like you had a productive day!  I usually feel that way when I'm contemplating plumbing.  But we never learn, do we.

top tip for exhausts is to cross axle the disco on ramps so axle nearest the exhaust is low down. it was only way i managed it on my series landy and that was with the exhaust off and hangin on the chassis when getting it onto ramps. sounded lovely though :-)

the best answr is to find a land rover owner who works or manages a tyre and exhaust centre,he can then fit your parts for you at his works which has the equipment.you of course can watch him and see how easy it is
