I've got the wobbles!!!!
« on: May 04, 2007, 18:58:41 »
I've fitted a replacment sammy leaf spring front axle on my vitara... yes vitara.... as i broke my last one.  :(

Now i've got the wobbles at a speed approx 40mph  :(

I run 35x 12.5 inch tyres.

Would it be because i need to refit the steering dampner  :?:
or do I need to strengthen the axle ( old one was) ?

Or is it something completely different   :?:  :?:

I'd go with fitting a steering damper , had this problem on my old zuki .

resonance in the steering or drivetrain possibly. try driving it at 80, see if it comes back

Somebody on here will know but I assume zuke axles have kingpins the same as a Landy..... wear in these will decrease the preload and allow wobbling at certain speeds although I would have expected it slower than 40mph

Cheers Steve
