hello this one is a bit silly but we need to know
It started from a quiz question
it asked where does cockney come from?
and the 4 answers where
london
tyneside
yorkshire
liverpool

obvously the answer is london but then we thought about the others
so far we have come up with

london= cockney
tynside= geordie
liverpool= scouser
yorkshire=  ?

any help please.     joe

Im sure BTM can add a few to that. I must be the exception to the rule as runnign the disco empties my wallet faster than i can earn it.

Only because the non-metropolitan county of Lincolnshire has grabbed "North East Lincolnshire" and "North Lincolnshire" into the bargain.  Devon's the second biggest if you ask me!

Actually if you look at ceremonial counties (ie, Yorkshire = North Yorkshire + West Yorkshire + South Yorkshire + East Riding) then I reckon Devon is biggest outright.  <ducks>

Even if Yorkshire is split up, North Yorkshire is still the biggest county in the country.  Gives you some idea of the size of Yorkshire.
