Can these be changed if needs be ? If so how much of a job is it to do ? would I need any special tools ?

The liners are cast-in, so removing them means putting the bare block onto a milling machine and cutting them out (destructively) then machining the block to accept new press-in liners, often the top-hat design.

Not a DIY job.
