What Colour Green?
« on: May 07, 2007, 11:25:55 »
Just bought a 300tdi 90 1995, but there is no paint code on plate!!
there are some touch ups been done but obviously not quite the right colour.
Ive tried to do a search on google but wondered if any of you have any idea what colour green was being used through 1993-1995.
There are lots of other questions i need to ask but need to sort out a 0 psi oil pressure first, ( been told its the cam shaft seals).
1995 300tdi 90 rebuilt and on the road (but still a project)

'Coniston' was the solid dark (almost Bronze) green

'Eastnor' was a lighter shade
(sorry no pics)

Woodcote'

'Epsom' was the metallic

'Bronze' wasn't an option at that time (but it was utilised for a later model  )

The nearest i can call it is like the forestry commision landrovers, Dark plain green.
He has left a can of Halfords spray which says brooklands green, but that appears to be slightly brighter, if that is any help?

Sorry pics didnt come up straight away, looks like "coniston" it is.
Thanks a lot that was very quick.

Is the paint code missing from your vin plate too?

Just searched again under "brooklands Green" and that appears to be a Range Rover colour.

Get down to some one like brown brothers and ask them to match it for you .Look in your local yellow pages and find a motor paint seller[One man bands are best as better price]and ask em to match it for you.
We did this loads of times with motors we were repairing in the past.

well thanks for all the help with this problem, i think i will get some one to colour match it to be on the safe side.

Steve, It was the right price at the right time, it does need some problems sorting out but hey "its a Landrover" so how many havnt.
unfortunatley one is quite major, so engine out job.Friend who towed it back said that if all sorted and tidy should be worth around the 4,000 mark so think i might have a bargain.

Body work, comfort etc. is not up to the Mitsi; but i cant go any further with Paj unless i start importing stuff from Australia/New Zealand.

So next post will be "How do i Upgrade a 90"
am keeping an eye on the for sale section
