Need a vitara auto!
« on: May 09, 2007, 13:26:48 »
Really need a vitara SWB auto, might do LWB but preferably not! I havent seen many kicking around lately and want to swap all the bits off mine on to an auto one, seems like the most economic thing to do, i will then sell me old one off standard!

Cheers

I suppose so! Seeing as i have all the bits, and cheaper etc etc i might as well stick to them, will try and make a bit of a beast out of one!

I like that one in the link, but with 9 days to go think it will go for a few bob, just got to keep my eyes peeled!

Cheers

Auto is better for off roading, and the two autos i had before were brilliant, and would take everything i would throw at them, just not a big fan of the manual vit. Im in no major rush i suppose, just would much rather a nice auto with all my bits and and 2" body lift etc. And i am lazy!

Dont really want to spend any more than a grand to be honest, they will be about soon i hope!

I've just purchased an old auto vit to steal the auto box from it for mine.

It's up for breaking but of course the important bits as far as you're concerned have already gone :)

I have two vitara autos (very kanckered in terms of body, chassis) sitting at home, are you putting an auto box in a manual trasmission car??

That's the plan.  I'd move the suspension lift etc across the other way but for two problems:
- The auto is fairly rusty and probably wouldn't pass the MOT.
- The auto engine ECU looks to be broken and won't fire the injector.

All hints, tips, howtos etc would be VERY welcome...

I must confess the the activities of the UK governments for the past couple of years have been watched with frank admiration and amazement by Lord Vetinari. Outright theft as a policy had never occured to him.

The condition is much more important than the mileage!  127k on the motorway is vastly preferable to 60k of green lanes and something that's been outside or swimming will have ten times as much rust as something that's been garaged.

Don't stress about the mileage.  My main Vit has 110k and is in MUCH better nick than the other with 95k.
