Some advice please folks.

My nephew is looking to fit a winch and tubular bumper to his P reg Defender.
Will he need to put HD springs/shocks on the front to compensate for the extra weight, or will the standard stuff be OK?

Cheers

Jon

Land Rover specify the rear springs off a 90 as the HD option on the front of a 110 (and possibly the 90 but I can't say for sure).

As for shocks I don't know if there is any specific HD option but I'm happy with the DeCarbons that I have - they are the same as would be supplied for a non winch equipped vehicle.

Heather sits slightly higher than standard with the ARB bumper and M8000 on there.

My 110 (with big winch and iron-girder sized bumper) has HD suspension from the factory (apparently !) - the front springs have yellow paint marks on them.......I believe that this is how you identify the spring rate.
