New Winch Solutions bumper
« on: May 16, 2007, 17:03:16 »
Popped this on today.

This has got to be the best quality winch bumper I've seen. The metal along the top is folded, not welded. All the recovery points and jacking tubes are really meaty. I'm well impressed.

I think its www.winchsolutions.co.uk based near wigan. Speak to Jeff, he did me a great (Read unbeliveable) deal for ahem, folding money.

Looks really nice. Big question is what does it look like on the sides? That is what I think really lets winch bumpers down. I like the look of the end caps as they look meaty where as most winch bumpers I see look thin feeble and just dont look neat.

How much of the ahem folding stuff did you partake with?

It's the Piadia one!

I have the same bumper and I am very happy - I bought it as a package with a 10,000lb winch

Sorry mate, dropped my phone and wont be taking any more pics for a while :(

Anyway, the sides are wide, the same as the front then have a semi-circular curve to match the wheel arch. They're quite different to the usual thin wedge shaped sides.

It is similar to the padia one but its brand new with a better finish and better styling IMO.

It's definately a paidia one if it came from winch solutions as I bought my winch and bumper package from winch solutions.

Look familiar?

Look at the recovery eyes. The padia are a touch smaller. I looked at both bumpers, the padia and this next to each other. Very similar as i said, but trust me, this is NOT the padia.

Sorry Stu, But I beg to differ!

if you go to the winch solutions website and look at there Discovery winch bumper picture it has a Paidia 4x4 sticker on it

http://www.winchsolutions.co.uk/bumper.html

I don't know why you have to insist your bumper is different, because it isn't!

BTW there are a lot of people on here who think the Paidia disco winch bumper is one of the best - so what's the problem!

Certainly looks different to me, the sides don't taper upwards and the tow points are different too, think I prefere the way the Paidia one tapers though.

Cheeky sod!

I was perfectly calm - When have you ever known me to be aggressive  8)

It's very very similar to the Paidia bumber and came from the same source, However if Discostu says it's different then I'll take his word for it and apologise if I came across as being aggressive.

As for you Lyndsey901357926142839 you can go swivel

TBH they are both pretty generic. Which isnt a bad thing...if someone came along with a wildly different winch bumper how would it be better? chances are it would be inferior....so no surprise that so many look alike.

Its nicer than mine, but there was very little choice when i got mine its been on nearly 4 years

TBH...

I can't understand the need to have the bumper ends coming so far round past the bottom of the wing. The end should follow the line of the front wheelarch as it's maximum rearward projection.

Maybe it's because it's been designed to be compatible with the RR and Disco.
