You clearly arent allowed an opinion!

Whats been deleted, just regular posts? Mebbe if you threw in a giveaway competition every now and again for mudclub members they would be happy with you? Happens on Pirate4x4. After all, the traders are the guys we all want to chat up to get good deals, and usually are in the know when help is needed. Id say let traders support the mudclubbers, and in return mudclub supports its regular traders.

Just seems common sense to me.

Then, what the hell do I know.....?  (hope the expletive detector is ok with 'hell')

Rolla :D
Go on....cut me in half........it says SUZUKI all the way thru the middle!!

Please see the Read Before Posting topic in the For Sale section.  I hope this answers your question.  If you've had posts removed that aren't commercial advertising, then PM me and I'll see if there's been a mistake.

(Just in case anybody doesn't read the Read Before Posting post, it does also say "No commercial advertising" in the spiel for the For Sale section as well.)

Without knowing exactly what's been removed it's hard for me to say, but posts aren't removed unless they break one of the written rules of the club, or in exceptional circumstances in which case you'd be PM'd about it.  I'll look through Quarantine and see if I can see what you're referring to.

Guardian, I've checked back through the Quarantined posts for the last couple of months, and I can't see anything of yours that has been removed.  If you have more details of what was removed and when then please PM me and I'll search for it;  other than that the only thing I can think of is that there is some problem with your account, because I really can't find anything at all.

Definitely nothing in Quarantine, if you see it happening again can you PM me with the name of the thread (roughly) and what forum it was in and I'll try to find out.

A while ago we did have a spate of disappearing posts due to a problem with the database but that seemed to be sorted out long ago.

Whats missing from where?

Give us a clue and we might be able to answer your question.

If you have had things removed, please bear in mind that the Mods and Admins have no requirment to inform you as to why. It sounds harsh, but there's a few of us and lot of you folk posting, and to be honest about it, we've got better things to do than to PM everyone who transgresses the few rules the club has. Some of the response we get are less than favourable, so where our motivation to do so?

Now, if there is a genuine grumble, and we know it can be emotive, then we're a lot more amenable if folk are polite about it

Cheers

No idea - as Mr TheLobster said, it isn't in the usual areas. Possibely just one of things, but in this case, I don't think there's owt underhand going on.

As regards to informing folk about removals - please see the disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

Generally the mods will notify you of what they've done and why.  However, if somebody has blatantly infringed well-known rules (such as posting obscene content), or they're doing something they've been warned about several times before, the mod may find it a worthless exercise.

Ok.
I have only just seen this thread and it was me that deleted the thread.
The antics of certain people in this thread show exactly what we have to put up with from certain users who blatently ignore the rules of the forum.

Swearing on the forum isn't acceptable. Certain members have been warned about their actions yet choose to ignore the Moderators "advice".

Those same people then go on to complain when the final move for a Moderator is to remove complete threads.

That thread was removed for a number of reasons. I'm not going to name names at this point but the people involved know that they have been contacted by moderators privately and then ignore what the moderators have had to say and then basically still go on extracting the urine out of the moderators in threads. That's a really good way to keep them on your side.

Moderation is not done willy nilly on MC. The moderators do talk to each other and persistent offenders get easily recognised. However WE don't get a bean for what we do (and don't expect anything) and freely give our time and unfortunately we have a life and better things to do than tell people that ignore us that we've taken action against them when we know it'll be ignored and that person will carry on flouting the rules.

Mud Club is run by people that put their actions and money where there mouths are. It's free friendly and fun. Free doesn't say that no one pays the hosting bills etc. Please remember that when you want to make your own set of rules.

So there you go.

No. The point of the thread was that not only is swearing unacceptable on the forum and you agreed not to swear when you registered for the forum, but also that to deliberately avoid the word filter is just as, if not more, unacceptable.

The filter is only there as a backup to the expectation that Mud Club members will play by the rules.

As a suggestion, if you find that the word filter has been invoked or you need to obscure words, edit your post so that an acceptable word is used.

Thank you
