Wasn't there a thread made sticky about if you swear use the expleitive deleted thingy (can't spell) not star things out etc etc

No. The point of the thread was that not only is swearing unacceptable on the forum and you agreed not to swear when you registered for the forum, but also that to deliberately avoid the word filter is just as, if not more, unacceptable.

The filter is only there as a backup to the expectation that Mud Club members will play by the rules.

As a suggestion, if you find that the word filter has been invoked or you need to obscure words, edit your post so that an acceptable word is used.

Thank you

OK but there are even usernames used that deliberatly are mean't to read as a swear word but with a little alteration and there still allowed as people on here use em.......

But either way the filter is there to catch swear words and you don't see every thread with a bit of humour and the expletive deleted thing invoked removed was my point..... Don't really care anyhow i hadn't even noticed the thread had gone till one a them pointed it out thats how important it was

You can of course complain about any usernames that you find offensive.

how many have you had removed  :?  :?:

Maybe it was my fault for swearing (well expletive deleteding) that, that one got removed but people swear in threads everyday and they don't all get removed  :?

I can see a common connection throughout quarantined and deleted threads. Of all of the people in this thread - how many of you have had warnings/advice from the moderators?

I've been trying to keep out of this argument, but it looks as if my attempts to do so have failed.

Please, when you start accusing the moderators of things, even if they appear to be in the wrong they usually have a reason to their actions.

Mud-Club was set up to be "Fun, Friendly and Free", for the administration team it has been none of these for a long time.

This is a generalised bit of information, and applies to everyone, not just those people involved in this "discussion"

For those that have transgressed the boundaries that we laid out, it is my understanding that these transgressions have been brought to your attention repeatedly in the past,

Some persons have historically ignored those warnings, and at the risk of sounding like a broken record, or just out of sheer frustration these people didn't get repeatedly told what they were doing wrong.  After all, they weren't listening so why bother saying anything ?

To those that haven't received any form of warning or justification I can only appologise and say that there are, on occasions, times when there is simply not the time to do both things that require doing, viz a viz moderating the content and informing the guilty.

As for comments such as "but he does it, why can't I?",  well, yes there is some natural injustice in the world,  the moderators can't be everywhere, nor can they police everything,  things will get missed,  if they do, bring them to someones attention and then they won't be missed.

And,  whilst we're on the subject,  please bear in mind that mud-club is self funded,  if you wish to advertise your company in a blatant way, please make some contribution to the running of the server,  rather than using it as a free advertising space.

Iv been warned once not for general swearing or picking on people but from when matty really upset me and i told him to shut up with an expletive deleted thrown in and then i asked for the thread to be removed so that it didn't go any further :!:

He just pushed it one step to far and being polite with him or ignoring him didn't work he just kept digging so i lost my temper..... Since then we have settled our differences in the real world.

but ya know sometimes people get upset and angry and say things and say naughty words its part of life.

So take it offline with them. We don't need really want to read your arguments with people. We all know swearing occurs, but it is actually possible to excercise some self control - just as you would around the same small children we are trying to protect from reading said words. Unless of course you swear in front of small children, and in which case - there's not a lot I can suggest.

This was locked last time i checked.... Did a mod unlock it because they wanted to say something? Wish i could do that!

And tbh i don't swear alot (because i don't really like it) but if i drop something on my foot and break my toe or someone really is taking the rip and laying into me i will say what i want no matter of who is there, wether it is swearing or not. Which really is how i think it should be, fine don't go out of your way to swear but it happens, sometimes infront of kids sometime not.

I was brought up my my nanna and grandpa with old fashioned values and when i was young and i don't think they said even "damn" infront of me, yet i still learnt the naughty words.... after all i went to school where you pick up and learn all the bad things in life unfortunatly.

It was locked, and then I unlocked it because I thought people would be able to take the hint that since the conversation wasn't going anywhere it might be a sensible time to put down the handbags and walk away....

As I say... I think this conversation might have run it's course hint
