Hi folks, this might be me being overly paranoid but ....when i change gear in my 300 tdi manual it sometimes after engaging the gear as you drive it sort of bounces not judders or slips just feels like bouncing movement until it reaches a speed. No problem when driving just after gearchange. is this the clutch on its way out or a suspension/bush prob?  :?

Could be your shockers are worn and the back and forth motion induced by backing off the power and putting it on again is causing you to wallow on the bouncy bits.. springs!

Hissing from under the bonnet...?

How is your clutch fluid level...?

Get someone to depress the clutch while you stick yer head under the bonnet.

It might be seals in the master cylinder.

Checked levels today all seems ok, saw no obvious signs of leak etc.Although the fluid looked quite dirty to me.

if its a 300tdi discovery as in your sig, scraw under and attatched to the diff at the rear, between the prop and diff theres a rubber coupling, to cushion gearchanges, but it was a crud idea and just makes them jerk if not careful when gearchanges, also if crawling in 1st gear then you take off or back off the throttle then hit it again, it kangaroo's like mad
every 300 disco that ive drove or been a passenger in does it, mine has got new suspention and bushes all round so theres nowt rong with that....so it eliminated suspention, btw mine box standard aswel
